Ever since I first came to Okinawa, I've loved evangelism! It's so refreshing to be alongside other believers as we shared the gospel. Then we get to share testimonies about what each of us saw God doing during the outreach and encourage each other. Sometimes I wish I could be in multiple places at once but as we're sharing testimonies from the night it feels like we're part of the other encounters too.
When I came to outreach on the first full day we came to Okinawa last year there was such a joy in my heart, I was also very nervous to talk to people I didn't know. I felt worried that they would think I was strange. I also felt very short, not literally, but being surrounded by many people that had been doing this for a long time, I felt inadequate. But the more I talked to people and prayed with them the more comfortable and brave I became. I believe that's true for everyone. We cannot let fear get in our way. Instead let's press through and continue following God and His will for our lives even if we're afraid. Let's ask God to give us boldness and continue on, and each time we choose to follow God instead of fear, we'll become more free!
沖縄に来て初めて伝道活動に参加した時から、私は伝道が大好きになりました！他の信者たちと共に福音を分かち合う時間は、本当に清々しいものです。そして、それぞれが伝道活動の中で神様がなさったことを証しし合い、互いに励まし合うのです。時には、同時に複数の場所にいられたらと願うこともありますが、夜の証しを分かち合う中で、他の出会いの場にも自分たちが参加しているような感覚に包まれます。
昨年沖縄に到着した初日の伝道活動に参加した時、心には大きな喜びがあった一方で、知らない人々に話しかけることに非常に緊張していました。変に思われるのではないかと心配でした。また、背が低いと感じました。文字通りではなく、長年この活動に携わってきた多くの人々に囲まれ、自分が不十分だと感じたのです。しかし人々と話し、共に祈るうちに、次第に落ち着き勇気が湧いてきました。これは誰にでも当てはまることだと思います。恐れに阻まれてはいけません。たとえ怖くても、押し進み、神と私たちの人生における御心に従い続けましょう。神に大胆さを与えてくださるよう願い、歩みを進めましょう。恐れではなく神に従う選択をするたびに、私たちはより自由になっていくのです！
