I love the door God has opened through the Jimbunas program to reach children at such a young age and teach them about the love of Jesus.
These 2 pictures were from our last time there with our previous YWAM team from Malaysia. Jimbunas isn't the only place where children are learning about Jesus; there are other Christian schools and programs in Okinawa where youth are learning about the gospel. For some, even those coming from non-Christian families, their parents are sending them to these schools and programs so they can become bilingual while receiving an education.
Their desire is for English education, but it's amazing how God is using this open door to reach them. I loved seeing how open the children were. They're each filled with genuine excitement and interest to answer questions about the Bible and engage in the skits and songs. It's similar to what we're seeing in the Philippines, as the children are receiving the good news and it bridges the way to share the love of God with their parents.
神様がジンブナスのプログラムを通して開いてくださった扉、幼い子供たちにイエスの愛を伝えるこの機会を心から感謝しています。この2枚の写真は、前回のマレーシアからのYWAMチームと共に現地の子供たちと過ごした時のものです。ジンブナスだけが子供たちにイエスを伝えている場所ではありません。沖縄には他にもキリスト教系の学校やプログラムがあり、子供たちが福音を学んでいます。非クリスチャンの家庭であっても、教育を受けながらバイリンガルになるために子供たちをこれらの学校やプログラムに通わせている家庭もあります。しかし、神がこの開かれた扉を用いて彼らに働きかけておられることは驚くべきことです。子供たちがどれほど心を開いているか、聖書についての質問に答えたり寸劇に参加したりする際に、純粋な興奮と興味に満ちている姿を見るのは本当に素晴らしかったです。これはフィリピンで私たちが目撃している状況と似ています。子供たちが福音を聞くことで、親に福音を伝える道が開かれるのです。
